Chrome Pointer Hubuki Subs, [Hubuki]: DC 687 Translations

DC 687 Translations

School is becoming onerous. All of us are busy studying and such. We'll try our best to get this done, but I doubt we can finish in a week.

Feb. 25, 11:53 P.M.: Sigh... there's a lot to be done because of the busy schedule with school. Everyone is busy. Rough estimate of about 40% translated. >.< Finals week is not too far.

Feb. 27, 8:23 A.M.: 42% The reason why I don't post up the DL and stuff b/c I'm not done with it. Even if the video is up, that's just version 1. When I'm done with the final one, THEN I will post everything up. If I wait until the final version is done and not post a version 1, then you guys will get impatient. So just wait...

Mar. 5, 9:42 A.M.: 90% translated. 60% edited. I still haven't got to it. Finals week is approaching. It was mainly done by my colleagues, so I still need to go over the final check. That might take some time since I'm busy... Well, they're working on the other episodes, too.

Mar. 9, 2:17 P.M.: 95% translated. 85% checked translation. 65% edited.

Mar. 9, 9:03 P.M.: finished translation. 70% edited. encoding v1

  10. Hubuki, good luck on ur exams! :)

Hubuki, im pasting this here and I hope u read this. I really love what ure doing. Subbed DC is so rare since what happened to DCTP. And I hope u consider my suggestion, maybe fr a little improvement:

(This is what I wrote at the chat section):

" I kinda get distracted with the way Hubuki translates. I mean, Hubuki writes BOTH direct translations and normal english conversations. Anyone feel the same? Im nt here to be demanding or anything. I really appreciate Hubuki's hardwork, for the sake of DC fans. Im just letting Hubuki know and I hope this comment is considered as constructive criticism, so tht maybe fans could watch DC comfortably. "

And I hope my intention wont be misunderstood.

Again, good luck on your exams! Gambatte!

    1. So you're saying I should just stick to normal english? I try to stick with direct translations but sometimes it gets weird so I change it to normal english. I like direct cuz it aligns with the japanese dialogue.

    2. This Kind Of Distraction Is Caused Depending On Your Concentration Skills. I'm not at all Affected by Direct translation, Rather it Helps People learn a Bit More Japanese.

I still believe, if you still have any doubt, just create a Poll.

    3. Tq fr being cool, Hubuki :)

Actually I dnt mind which. Direct and normal are good but maybe u could just choose one and make a neat sentence rather than put them both and having those brackets (they sometimes eat up like half of the screen). But this doesnt happen on every episode. For instance, Ep684 was great. Nice and neat. But Ep683 was exactly like I mentioned.

But recently I doubt Ep683 tht I downloaded was urs bcs its sooo different than Ep684. I downloaded 683 thru torrent and 684 thru ZS. Does tht make any difference?

      *confused confused*

    4. I wasnt distracted by direct translations. I was distracted when BOTH direct and normal translations was on the screen. I LOVE direct translations too.

But Mr. A, reading ur comment really add up my doubt whether the episodes which has BOTH direct and normal translations was Hubuki's or wasnt. Huhuhuu because I was lost for some time, not knowing where to find subbed DC so I checked kickasstorrents and downloaded some of the episodes there. But I got some of it frm here too I just dnt know which from which. But Im sure Ep684 was from here, from ZS. And the subs look great and neat like DCTP's.

So, was it only me? For a moment I thought I downloaded 'drafts' episodes. Because the subs really too much, goes up until half of the screen. Ughhh was it me?

    8. Hello Sofia ^^, I'm sorry If I'm intruding myself upon your topic, but I think you all misunderstood each other. Saying so, after seeing your samples, and after reading: "(they sometimes eat up like half of the screen)". Did you mean "direct translations" as the usage of Japanese letters/characters? Or the usage of Japanese words, to an English form (Romaji) such as: "Oji-san" instead of typing: "Uncle"?

Because your first sample, shows Kaito-Fansubs releases, using Hubuki's translations. they take somewhat a different route, but they still use Hubuki & CO translations. In Katio-Fansubs releases, they never use Japanese letters/characters, as you showed in the first sample.
As for Hubuki & Co, they started adding Japanese translations (usage of Japanese letters and characters) from episode 684, just as in your second sample, though, your second sample is their mix of Japanese and English translations version of Episode 685. Hubuki & Co, release two versions, as of recent; the first, is the traditional form of translations; from Japanese to English, the other, being a mix of traditional English, and the usage of Japanese letters and characters, at the same time, as shown in your second sample. Keep in mind; the 684 you showed above, is Kaito-Fansub's version.

Because I think Hubuki and MR.A, misunderstood you, by getting the idea, that you're confused because of the usage of Romaji... like I said earlier: "Oji-San" instead of typing: "Uncle".

Sorry, If I made it worse somehow... I was just trying my best to clear something up.

      Thanks.

    9. Hello BloodyRain! ^^

Haha thanks fr noticing. I knw we misunderstood each other bcs they seem like hv no idea wht I was talking abt. And I misunderstood them, thinking the sub like in the first picture was Hubuki's. I was confused bcs the title says [Kaitou-Hubuki].

And as fr "(they sometimes eat up like half of the screen)", I dnt mean "direct translations" as the usage of Japanese letters/characters or the usage of Japanese words, to an English form (Romaji) such as: "Oji-san" instead of typing: "Uncle". Bcs Im perfectly okay with tht. What bothers me is tht they put BOTH on the same screen.

For example, as in the first picture, the sub is like this :

{Oh! If I recall, the reason for her suicide was{because she was captured in a photo kissing a dangerous lover, right?}{because she was photographed kissing a dangerous lover?} Oh! If I recall, wasnt the reason for her suicide being photographed while kissing a dangerous lover?

As u can see, the translator puts everything tht he/she think. I just think tht the translator should decide which sentence he/she wants to use. I dnt mind abt grammar at all. Its just bothering when the subtitle keep on filling the screen (as in the picture, the subtitle is up until Takagi's nose!)

Oh and about the usage of "Oji-san" / "Uncle", personally I like "Oji-san" better. Hihi. But I dont mind at all if he use either. :)

Well, I dont think this is an issue anymore. Bcs its all clearly my bad, I thought Hubuki made tht sub. And this thanks to BloodyRain! Thank you fr confirming tht it wasnt Hubuki's! ^^

And to Hubuki, I owe u an apology. Im ashamed. Im the one who mixed up. Ur subs are great! And just to let u know, Im RE-downloading and replacing those bothering subs episodes with urs. Thank you and again, Im sorryyy. :(

      Again, tq, BloodyRain! :)

    10. Hello Sofia :). I understand what you said. Having said that myself, I doubt your version of Episode 684 is from Kaito-Fansub's personal website; I had the chance to watch that episode earlier today, and the translation during that screen-cap which you took, was completely different and organised. As for your referring to Kaito-Fansubs' translators, they're the same; Hubuki & Co.

I shall send a screen-cap of the episode 684, that I had downloaded from Kaito-Fansub's personal website, on your ChatAngo account, I had already sent a message on there, please check it :). I have no idea, how to put my own screen shots on that site, lol. So, let's talk on there, and have you explain the process to me, so I can show it to you. let's not comment on here any more, regarding this topic. This section of this site, is for grateful comments and good suggestions.

I'm happy to have somewhat cleared things ^^. No need to thank me at all ^_^.

    11. Thanks for clearing some stuff up. I try my best to keep it consistent with the direct translation, but sometimes it just doesn't make sense unless I change it to proper english. >.< Also, my videos should have my watermark on the top right corner. If it doesn't, it's most likely not mine.

    12. I agree, sometimes it's better understood with a flood of text; If you're having trouble reading it then I suggest you pause it, and it shouldn't be much of hindrance as such amount of text would rarely occur. However, Hubuki is still trying his best, and for that I also thank him!!!
And yes I first noticed his subs through that watermark, long ago.

I'm Happy that we now clearly understand each other, thanks to B.R. and thanks for expressing yourself Sofia. :)

I do suggest you watch videos on this blog, or download them (if needed) through one of the following websites:

      http://www.icyvideo.com/
      http://catchvideo.net/
      http://keepvid.com/
(Note: You need to type video url, not site url)

Sorry for my late arrival, tough I'm happy to see things explained. Don't hesitate to ask for any help if needed.

      ~Mr. A

      And, Please don't mind this.

Look for LucarioPK subs. I'm not looking to step on anyone's turf but until episodes can come out on schedule (finals are done for you guys) I'll post what I can today and tomorrow. Meaning 688 and 689 as well.
